Windows Installer and Patches

Windows installer can be made to create patches for your application... This is somewhat undersold and not well documented (though there is a good 'getting started' article on CodeProject).

But if you keep going at it you'll find that the MSI and MSP files can be made to auto-patch multiple versions, with 'roll-back'. This has enabled us to release the application for testing, knowing we can keep track of the versions and issue patches to update installations.

Funny though, reading the 'blurb' you find that now (XP service pack 2) patches are 'hidden' by default in Add/Remove programs because they're becoming more frequent... Does that mean the standard of code is dropping or the complexity of the system is increasing???
