Speeding up VS2005

VS2005 is certainly "prettier" than VS2003 and has much better intellisense and things like that but...

It can run "slow"

A quick WWW trawl and you'll find references to turning off Auto Recover and the auto-generation of the "toolbox" from your project (e.g. datasets). Certainly the first one of these is something we'd recommend (that is, as long as you're in a habit of saving your changes regularly...)
